Here is real comedy, if you can stomach its real intent, with [comments].
"As I’ve watched the events of the last few days it is clear once again that President Obama is trying to pretend we are not at war.
[Cheney is projecting. What is more: this is mind rape.]
He seems to think if he has a low-key response to an attempt to blow up an airliner and kill hundreds of people, we won’t be at war.
[Cheney is projecting. Until one knows the origin of an act, it is dangerous to comment. This was not Katrina, the origin of which was known and broadcast in advance. Is this not a huge black kettle calling little brown jug black?]
He seems to think if he gives terrorists the rights of Americans, lets them lawyer up and reads them their Miranda rights, we won’t be at war.
[Cheney is projecting. Is he saying let's do away with the Constitution? It seems so. What kind of image does that project to the radical fringes? If implemented, what would it project about American's humanity--you and me in other words.]
He seems to think if we bring the mastermind of Sept. 11 to New York, give him a lawyer and trial in civilian court, we won’t be at war.
[Cheney is projecting. Is Cheney again suggesting that we do away with our Constitutional protections? What is he saying about our civilian court system? Well, certain election returns from Florida do come to mind.]
“He seems to think if he closes Guantanamo and releases the hard-core Al Qaeda-trained terrorists still there, we won’t be at war.
[Cheney is projecting. The fact is people released from Guantanamo during his administration went on to commit more terror. Is Cheney blaming Obama for that?]
He seems to think if he gets rid of the words, ‘war on terror,’ we won’t be at war.
[Cheney is projecting. War? Yes, there is a war, but terror is its symptom, not its cause. These terrorists know that and take advantage of our ignorance. Have we forgotten Bunker Hill and all the famous battles where our founding fathers made themselves diffuse against armies marching in lockstep? We don't know about you, but lockstep thinking leads to mess we are in in the Middle East--and with Russia too if that is not enough. We are tilting at windmills.]
But we are at war and when President Obama pretends we aren’t, it makes us less safe.
[Cheney is projecting. What makes us less safe is 1) motivating yet more terrorists, 2) depleting our national treasury, 3) exhausting our military, 4) infuriating enemies and allies alike.]
Why doesn’t he want to admit we’re at war? It doesn’t fit with the view of the world he brought with him to the Oval Office. It doesn’t fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency — social transformation — the restructuring of American society.
[Cheney is projecting. Cheney's view coincides that of his former boss who said on national TV: "I am a war president." The real problem is embedded in the human genome, the sociopathic fringe that populated the Bush II adminstration. Terrorism as now practiced is motivated by religious and psychological extremism and requires a response that recognizes that, not massive armies in the field.]
President Obama’s first object and his highest responsibility must be to defend us against an enemy that knows we are at war."
[Cheney is projecting. Who is this enemy? Could it be people who share Cheney's world view?]
If only this were a real comedy.
